Rempart

Messagerie souveraine

Your conversations stay in France, end-to-end encrypted, on a server nobody else controls.

The service is not open to the public yet.

What our server sees of you

The question is not what we promise not to do, but what we are technically unable to do. Here is the list, unrounded.

  • The content of your messages

Encrypted on your device before it leaves, decrypted on the other one. The server only ever carries something unreadable.

  • Your photos, videos and voice messages

Encrypted like everything else. On the server's disk they are files with neither a name nor a type.

  • Your address book

Rempart does not read it and uploads it nowhere. You look a contact up; you do not hand them over.

  • Who writes to whom, and when

This is the protocol's honest limit: delivering a message means knowing where to send it. No messenger escapes it, and the ones that claim to are lying.

  • Your email address

It opens your session and does nothing else. No phone number is ever asked for.

What holds it up

Nothing invented for the occasion: public, audited protocols that others rely on before us.

  • Matrix encryption

Double Ratchet, the same mechanism Signal uses, with keys that keep rotating. A message intercepted today cannot be decrypted tomorrow.

  • Hosted in France

One server, at a French host, under European law. No subcontracting, no transfer outside the Union, GDPR by construction.

  • Open source, AGPL

Privacy is not something you take on trust: it is verified, line by line, by whoever cares to. The repository is public.

  • No ads, no profiling

No ad network, no tracker, no business model built on what you talk about. The product is the messenger.

And your agents connect to it

What Rempart does that others do not: your automated assistants belong here, without ever going through a third party.

  • One bot, one token

Create it in the app by giving it a name. You get its token, and that is all: nothing to host, nothing to register.

  • Plug in whatever you like

The token opens a Telegram-style API. Poll for messages when it suits you, or give an address and Rempart pushes them there. An MCP client connects straight to it too, with no code at all.

  • In your groups

Address an agent by name and it answers. Ignore it and it stays quiet, following the thread like any other member.

  • Ready-made agents

Not keen on writing your own? Ready-to-use agents can be ordered and installed on your account.

Not open to the public yet

The server runs, and so does the app. It will come to Google Play first, then to the App Store, once the publishing formalities are complete.
